(DUBOIS CO.) - A 4-year-old boy is recovering after being attacked by a dog Monday afternoon in Huntingburg.
According to Assistant Huntingburg Police Chief Ronnie Bowman, the attack happened just before 3:30 outside a home in the 500 block of East 7th Street.
The dog, which belongs to the boy's father, attacked and bit the boy multiple times in the head.
The boy suffered numerous lacerations to his face. The boy was taken to Jasper Hospital for treatment.
According to his mother Danielle Wigodinski, Terrance is recovering after having surgery but will have to spend the next few days in the hospital.
The pit bull, is currently in isolation at the Animal Control Holding Facility.
Police had not made any decision on euthanizing the dog until after they see and verify the animal's vaccination chart. The owner told police he doesn't think he will keep the dog and Danielle has stated the dog will be euthanized.
Police say no charges have been filed, but attack remains under investigation.
