(OOLITIC) - The Oolitic Festival Committee is teaming up with ghouls from Harrodsburg Haunted House to bring “Halls of Terror” to the old Oolitic High School on Hoosier Avenue this Halloween.
The scares will begin on Friday October 10th and run every following Friday and Saturday night from 7 p.m. to midnight.
A special guest appearance with Indiana horror host Sammy Terry are set for Thursday, October 30th in the gymnasium. Tickets will be $8 at the door. General admission to meet Sammy Terry will be $5 or $12 with a haunt pass included.
Sammy Terry - his very name a play on "cemetery" - is in real life Mark Carter, the son of longtime Indianapolis television personality Bob Carter, who made the character famous across decades hosting horror movies on the Indianapolis station. The younger Carter assumed the role in 2011 from his elderly dad.
The elder Carter, a veteran broadcaster, passed away in 2013.
The haunted attraction is in need of volunteers to locate and pick up donated items, assemble props and decorate scenes throughout September and then act as characters during nights of operation in October.
Instructional events will be held every week and all volunteer workers are treated to food and drinks on our weekend movie nights. If you love Halloween, this is a fun way to get involved and enjoy the entire season!
There is no work hour minimum and everyone is welcome to help just leave your name, number and age and availability on the Oolitic Haunted House Facebook page.
