(LINTON) - 22-year-old Harley Shields of Linton was arrested on a warrant Saturday and is now facing escape and resisting arrest charges after he ran from police.
According to police, officers received a tip that Shields was at a Linton homes. Shields was wanted on several warrants on charges of theft and residential entry.
When officers arrived they found Shields walking in a yard. When he spotted officers he took off running. Officers followed and chased Shields to a group of trailers and found Shields in one of the trailers. They chased him to a back bedroom where he jumped through a window. He then entered a second trailer and was found hiding in a closet.
Shields was captured and walked back to a patrol car. As the officer opened the patrol car door, Shields took off running again. A witness at the scene saw Shields take off and blocked his path with their vehicle. Which caused Shield to attempt to change direction, he fell and officers were able to capture Shields a second time.
This time officers shackled Shields' legs preventing him from another escape attempt.
