Columbus Police say 42-year-old Michael Burton tested at more than four times over the legal limit with a blood alcohol content of .364 percent.
Police say Burton's companion, 43-year-old Glenda Dixon, said she had been driving at the time of the crash, which occurred in the 700 block of Maple Street at around 6 p.m. Wednesday, but witnesses identified Burton as the driver.
Officers say Burton failed several field sobriety tests.
He was arrested and taken to the Bartholomew County Jail on a preliminary charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated and leaving the scene of an accident.
Dixon was arrested on a charge of false informing.
