(HAYDEN) - The man accused of killing and robbing a gun store owner last Sunday was caught twice on the store’s video surveillance system in the two days leading up to the murder.
24-year-old Darryl A. Worthen of Indianapolis was caught on surveillance video in the days preceding the slaying and has admitted to investigators that he; his brother, 23-year Dejaun A. Worthen; and their cousin, 20-year-old Darion D. Harris; robbed and killed 61-year-old Scott Maxie at Maxie's Muscatatuck Outdoors store at 8485 West County Road 200S near Hayden.
All three have been charged with murder and robbery and are currently being held without bond at the Jennings County Jail.
Four guns from the 47 that were stolen were recovered.
Maxie was a Southern Indiana firearms dealer who was shot in the head during the robbery.
Maxie was found lying on the floor of his shop located just east of the Muscatatuck National Wildlife Refuge. The shop was part of Maxie's home.
Maxie had as many as 200 guns in his shop.
