(SPRINGVILLE) - A 72-year-old Salem woman was arrested after a family dispute at the Springville community park Sunday afternoon.
According to Lawrence County Chief Deputy Mike Branham, officers were called to the park, located behind the gym, after a report of family members in a verbal fight that had turned physical.
When police arrived they discovered family members were fighting over the care of another family member.
"At that point the fight turned physical," Branham added.
Arlene Jackson allegedly went to slap one a family members, but missed and struck another male relative.
"That member filed a battery affidavit against her and she was arrested," Branham says.
