(BEDFORD) - Two people were arrested Monday afternoon after they stole several items from the Dollar General Store on X Street.
Bedford Police officers arrested 34-year-old Jeremy Gulley, of Heltonville and 21-year-old Melissa Andis, of 306 R St.
According to Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley, officers were called to the store at 4:35 Monday after a report that a man and woman had been in the store and employees witnessed the woman stick several items into her bag.
When officers arrived the two had left the store. Officers were given a description of the two and found them walking at Fifth and X streets.
Police say they found over the counter medication, clothing and perfume that were taken from the store in the Andis' bag.
She was arrested and charged with theft.
Officers then found some mini hooks in the pocket of Gulley. While talking to Gulley officers determined he was intoxicated.
