(BEDFORD) - Two were injured after the vehicle they were riding in struck a utility pole Wednesday night.
According to a Lawrence County Police report, 29-year-old Ashley Boyd was traveling west on Ind. 158 and had slowed her 1997 Honda Civic because of the rain.
Boyd told police she was traveling around 40 miles per hour when she struck the utility pole next to the highway.
She told police she was unaware that she had driven off the roadway until striking the pole.
Boyd was not injured but her passengers did suffer injuries during the incident. 18-year-old Chris McCarty of Bedford suffered contusion and bruises to his knee and lower leg. A 8-year-old boy, who was in the backseat, suffered abrasions to his hip and upper leg.
