(BLOOMINGTON) - The second annual Yogafest will take place from 9 a.m. till 2:30 p.m. Saturday on the Monroe County Courthouse Square and at the IU Art Museum.
The event, a fundraiser for Pets Alive, raised $2,500 last year and organizers hope to raise $5,000 this year.
"Yogafest is a community celebration of fun and fitness through the healing practice of yoga," said Ingrid Skoog, the event's coordinator.
Family-friendly classes -- such as Laughter Yoga, Align and Flow, Family Yoga and Yoga for Self-Care -- will be offered at both locations. There also will be live music.
Skoog said people can take the Yogafest Challenge by pledging to take their first-ever yoga class or to participate in Yogafest for the first time.
A full pass to Yogafest is $20 for adults and the Yogafest Challenge (for a single class) is $15 for adults. Children 10 and under are free, teens are half price, and there's one free class offered for everyone at each location.
For more information about the event, see bloomingtonyogafest.com or call 812-333-1982.
There are 17 instructors donating their time and 17 sponsors. Pets Alive is a low-cost spay/neuter/vaccine clinic.
