(MONTGOMERY) - A traffic accident on US 50 near County Road 1200 East claimed the life of one person Thursday night.
Four vehicles were involved in the accident, one of which was a bulk fuel truck traveling west on U.S. 50, while all three passenger vehicles involved in the crash were traveling East on U.S. 50.
According to the Daviess County Sheriff's Department say the first passenger car, for an unknow reason crossed the center line and collided with the fuel truck.
After the collision the truck continued west, out of control, and collided with the two other vehicles.
The driver of the vehicle that collided with the fuel tanker had to be freed from their car and was taken to Daviess Community Hospita and was later died from their injuries.
The names of those involved in the accident are being withheld pending notification of family.
Working the crash scene were the Daviess County Sheriff's Department, and they were assisted by Montgomery and Cannelburg Fire Departments, Martin County Sheriffs, Indiana State Police, Southwest Medical, Loogootee Fire Department and Air Evac.
