(BEDFORD) - Starting Wednesday, Bertha’s Mission will begin providing free meal delivery on Wednesdays to the elderly, disabled and those with medical issues.
To receive a delivered meal, individuals must call (317) 480-0085 by Monday at 3 p.m.
Holiday Meals
Bus transportation for the Bertha's Mission Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners will be provided for people living in Bedford and Mitchell.
Thanksgiving dinner will be served First Baptist Church in Bedford on Nov. 22 from 2-6 p.m. and Christmas dinner will be served at Community Fellowship Church on State Road 58 on Dec. 20 from 2-6 p.m.
To arrange for a ride in the Bedford area, call 275-1633 by 3 p.m. Nov. 21. Mitchell area residents should call 849-2151 by 3 p.m. Nov. 21 for the Thanksgiving dinner and by 3 p.m. Dec. 19 for the Christmas dinner.
Bertha's Mission, corner of Fifth and J streets, is seeking community donations for food and supplies. Needed items include hams, turkeys, chicken, canned goods (condensed milk, corn, green beans, cranberry sauce, cream of chicken, cream of mushroom soup), macaroni, mild and sharp cheddar cheese, fresh sweet potatoes, white potatoes, white corn meal, yellow corn meal, canned pineapples, brown sugar, white sugar, aluminum pans, 12 oz. Styrofoam cups, sweet tea, unsweet tea, lemonade and soft drinks.
Gift cards and monetary donations to Bertha's Mission are also needed.
