(BLOOMFIELD) - 27-year-old Tyler R. Gadberry of Bloomfield was arrested Thursday night while allegedly in possession of drug-related items including syringes, suboxone and marijuana.
At around 10:45 p.m., Bloomfield Police Department Lt. Deputy Marshal Marvin Holt and Deputy Marshal Wayman Blazier spotted a 2002 Ford Explorer driven by Gadberry. Holt stated in a court document that Gadberry was driving left of the center line and nearly running off the side of the road.
Holt explained that after they pulled Gadberry over, Blazier saw him pull several syringes out of one of his pockets and put them in the vehicle's center console.
Holt handcuffed Gadberry and Blazier searched the vehicle, reportedly locating the syringes and a bag containing marijuana. Holt said Gadberry told them he used the syringes to inject himself with Suboxone, which he did not have a prescription for but used to replace his heroin addiction.
Greene County Sheriff's Department Deputy Harvey Holt arrived on-scene with his K9 Layla, who alerted on three different parts of the vehicle. Other items found in the Explorer allegedly included suboxone, two hand-rolled cigarettes believed to contain marijuana, rolling papers, and a homemade smoking device containing burnt residue.
Gadberry faces preliminary charges of unlawful possession of a syringe, a level 6 felony, possession of a controlled substance, a class A misdemeanor, possession of marijuana, a class B misdemeanor, and possession of paraphernalia, a class A misdemeanor.
