(BLOOMINGTON) - A Bloomington man was arrested after police discovered he was sending knives, razor blades, cell phones and chargers, plastic handcuff keys, super glue and five feet of pliable metal to two state prisons and a jail.
28-year-old Michael Shelton of Bloomington was hiding the items in secret compartments in book and sent the books to 'violent and high-risk" inmates at two state prison and the Lake County Jail in Gary.
Shelton was arrested on five felony counts of trafficking with an inmate. He was released later Tuesday after posting $1,000 bond.
