(NINEVEH) - The body of a Johnson County man missing since Tuesday night was found by a lake near his home Wednesday afternoon.
79-year-old Leroy Brower was found on the shore of Lattimore Lake in Nineveh. Police say his body was found near a small dock just 300 feet from his home around 4 p.m. Wednesday
Crews from several police and fire departments were searching for Brower, who was last heard from at 9:30 p.m. Tuesday. Family members say he suffered from dementia and other physical ailments.
Johnson County Deputy Chief Coroner Dave Lutts confirmed the cause of death as drowning. An autopsy will not be performed.
Assisting were several local fire departments, Homeland Security search and rescue team, Princess Lakes Police Department and Johnson County Dive Team.
