(UNDATED) - The Indiana Department of Transportation is reminding everyone that campaign signs may not be posted in federal and state highway right-of-ways.
INDOT is required by state law to remove all unauthorized signs from the state right-of-way.
Crews may also remove a sign if it poses an immediate safety risk, such as being too close to the road or obstructing sight lines.
Right-of-way areas where signs cannot be posted include:
Campaign signs may be claimed by the owner between 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, except holidays.
