(LYONS) - A 23-year-old Lyons man is accused of injuring a pregnant woman.
A warrant was issued Friday for the arrested of Thomas Clements charging him with battery causing bodily injury to a pregnant woman, a Level 5 felony; intimidation, a Level 6 felony and disorderly conduct, a Class B misdemeanor.
Clements was arrested Monday.
The Greene County Daily World reports that the charges stem from an incident that occurred on October 15 in Switz City. The victim called police after she says she and Clements got into an argument at the dinner table and Clements got upset.
She alleged Clements went into the kitchen and began tossing items from the refrigerator onto the floor and shoved her against the kitchen wall.
She told police Clements then picked up a pair of blue jeans, wrapped them around his fist and hit her several times in the face and stomach.
Clements left the residence, but not before the two got into another struggle outside.
However, Clements told police that a shelf from the refrigerator fell on the floor and that he was the victim. Claiming the woman had injured him several times over the past months by hitting him.
Clements was arrested and posted a $1,450 cash bond and was released. He will appear in Court on November 3 for his initial hearing.
