(BLOOMINGTON) - 23-year-old Jack Goudie was arrested Saturday morning on a felony charge of aggravated battery after officials from the Department of Child Services and Monroe Hospital contacted Bloomington Police about a toddler who suffered bruising to her jaw and neck and a fractured leg.
The 18-month old girl's mother took the child to the emergency room after a babysitter called her at work and said the child needed medical attention.
At first Goudie told police he had been "playing airplane" with the toddler and was tossing her into the air when he felt pain in his arm and was unable to catch the child causing her to hit the ground.
He later told police he had grabbed the child hurting her after he had gotten upset with the child after she spilled and threw her bottle. The man apologized for hurting the girl.
