(MARTINSVILLE) - One teen and his friends were looking for a few good scares when they were visiting a Martinsville cemetery last weekend - and they got one.
And now the Morgan County Sheriff's Department is investigating.
Tyler Staehler got more than scared - his Mustang has a damaged taillight, the back windshield is busted and the top was cut and windshield was smashed.
The damage happened when he and his friends went ghost hunting in Morgan County near Brian Cemetery.
WTHR reports, the teens were driving around trying to find Cry Baby Bridge. That's the name given by locals to a bridge. They say the bridge is haunted by a baby who died in an accident years ago. Locals claim if you go there around midnight and turn off your vehicle lights you can hear the baby's cries.
But instead of finding a ghost the boys found an angry man in a truck armed with a baseball bat.
The man yelled and screamed at the teens and then began swinging. The man told the teens he was going home to get a rifle and return.
Staehler says his car was so badly damage it wouldn't start so he climbed into his friend's vehicle and they fled the scene.
The teens returned to the cemetery with the police and their parents - to find even more damage to Staehler's vehicle.
By the time Tyler and his friends came back to the cemetery, this time with sheriff's deputies and their parents, the damage to his car was worse.
The Morgan County Sheriff's Department is still investigating the incident. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Morgan County Sheriff's Department.
