(MITCHELL) - A Mitchell man was arrested early Wednesday morning after he stole a motorcycle from a garage at 7th Street and Grissom Avenue in Mitchell.
According to Mitchell Police Chief Mike Hardman, officers were called to the 400 block of 8th Street at 1:15 a.m. after a resident reported that someone was revving the engine of a motorcycle.
When officers arrived they found the motorcycle on the ground and 35-year-old Jason Allen hiding on a front porch.
Officers found Allen and were questioning him when they discovered the motorcycle had been stolen.
"He had also wrecked the motorcycle twice at 8th and College Avenue after stealing it," Hardman says.
This was not the first time officers had talked to Allen.
"We dealt with him earlier when he had been in a domestic fight with his wife at a home in the 1000 block of Tulip Street," Hardman says.
Allen was arrested on of auto theft, burglary, disorderly conduct, leaving the scene of an accident.
