(PEKIN) - The investigation into the murder of 41-year-old Kristi Williams is complete and no one will be arrested.
On April 24, detectives from the Indiana State Police Post in Sellersburg began an investigation into Williams' murder after Washington County police received a 911 call from Williams' boyfriend reporting he had found her dead just before 7:30 a.m. in her home at 8531 State Road 335 in Pekin.
According to an autopsy report, Williams died from severe trauma to her neck area.
After police completed their murder investigation they turned over the information to Washington County Prosecutor Dustin Houchin, who has ruled the case closed because police believe the person who committed the murder is dead.
Police are not releasing that person's name.
Houchin says if new evidence appears or is presented to the police or prosecutor's office that leads to possible other's involvement in the crime, the case will be immediately re-opened.
