(ELNORA) - An accident involving a pickup truck in Daviess County left one man dead and another hospitalized.
It happened Sunday around 6:30 p.m. on State Route 57 about a mile north of the cheese factory in Elnora.
Sheriff's deputies say a black Ford Ranger was headed south on State Road 57, approaching a curve, when it went off the road and hit a utility pole.
The truck spun around trapping the driver and passenger.
Deputies say the driver, 62-year-old James Fleetwood of Bloomfield, told him the severe glare of the sun caused him to run off the road and lose control of the pick up.
Fleetwood was taken by helicopter to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
His passenger, 33-year-old Logan Russell of Bloomfield, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Daviess County coroner.
