(BROWN CO.) - The Brown County Republican and Democratic parties still need to fill vacancies on their lists of poll workers for Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 4.
The Brown County Election Board will look to party chairs to make those appointments first, but if they are unable to find people, the board will step in to help.
The Brown County Democrat reports, poll workers are paid - about $100 - to work from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Election Day and to attend a training session, set for 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 28 at the Brown County Inn.
Election Secretary Beth Mulry says even when all spots are filled, some alternates likely will be needed.
Poll workers cannot be closely related to anyone on the ballot.
To inquire about whether or not you are eligible to work, or to volunteer to be put on the list, call the county clerk's office at 988-5510.
