(SALEM) - A Salem woman was injured Wednesday afternoon in a two-vehicle accident at the corner of High and Walnut streets in Salem.
According to a Salem Police report, 75-year-old Betty Nicholson either didn't see the on-coming vehicle or failed to stop at the stop sign.
Nicholson's Ford Focus collided with an on-coming Honda Accord driven by 23-year-old Tamara Hurst of Salem.
The Accord struck the Focus in the driver's door, which left Nicholson trapped in her vehicle.
Washington County Ambulance Service EMTs and Salem firefighters freed Nicholson from the vehicle.
Nicholson, who suffered a head injury, was transported to Floyd Memorial Hospital for treatment. Hurst was not injured.
