(SHAKAMAK) - Shakamak State Park will be getting into the Halloween spirit this weekend with their Annual Fall Festival.
The Greene County Daily World reports, festivities will begin tonight with a pumpkin carving taking place at 6 p.m. at the playground. Following that, brave participants will be able to take a walk through the Haunted Pool House starting at 8 p.m. until 10:30 p.m.
The Halloween Hoopla will continue on Saturday morning with a Kids Halloween Egg Hunt at 11:30 a.m. at the Pool Shelter. A Family Scavenger Hunt will follow at noon. Families may turn in their found items at 3 p.m. for a chance to win various prizes.
The fun will continue with a Bounce House from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. and Campground Hayrides from 4 p.m. until 10:30 p.m.
There will also be a Kids Costume Contest for children ages 13 and under taking place at the Pool Overlook Deck. Trick or Treating will begin at 8 p.m. and last until 9:30 p.m. The campground roads will be closed during trick-or-treating hours.
The Haunted Pool House will take place again on Saturday night from 8 p.m. until 10:30 p.m.
All Class A camping guests are encouraged to decorate their campsites and participate in the evening trick-or-treating.
There are no additional charges to participate in the fall festival; however, regular entrance fees do apply. The gate fee is $5 per car and $7 for all out-of-state vehicles.
The Haunted Pool House will also be accepting donations. It is put on by the Casey's General Store in Jasonville. Store Manager Diane Pine said that all proceeds will go to benefit the Saint Jude's Children Hospital.
