(UNDATED) - The unemployment rate in Dubois County was at 3.4 percent in September, according to the Department of Workforce Development.
In August it was at 3.7 percent. And, while the numbers continue to drop, the problem that follows it is a lower pool of workers from which to fill open positions at businesses in the county.
Other surrounding counties continue to drop their unemployment rates, too: Daviess at 3.9, Martin at 4.1, Orange at 5.3, Greene at 6 and Lawrence County at 6.2.
The county with the highest unemployment rate in the state is Lake at 7.2 percent.
