(SEYMOUR) - When Desiree Steinkamp first put on her blue and gold FFA jacket in 2009 as a freshman at Seymour High School, she knew it was more than just a piece of clothing.
The jacket was a symbol of an organization that instills leadership, involvement and good citizenship amongst its members and unites them in their efforts to promote agriculture.
Recently, Steinkamp zipped up that jacket for the final time as an official member to receive the prestigious American FFA Degree.
She accepted the honor at the National FFA Convention in Louisville on Nov. 1.
