(JUDAH) - Indiana limestone, cut and finished in Lawrence County, will be featured on a future episode of DIY Network’s new show, “Amish RENOgades.”
Kathy Baker-Heckard, president of Indiana Cut Stone, a stone fabricating company located near Judah, received an email from the show's producer asking if they would donate stone and materials. Indiana Cut Stone was started by her father, Don Baker, in the late 1980s and is now operated by Baker-Heckard and her brother, Ernie Baker.
Officials scrambled to get the limestone ready and shipped to Llano, Texas, within seven days.
The business sent 200 square feet of limestone veneer and 30-35 linear square feet of wall cap on a truck to Texas, which was used by Amish RENOgades stars Robert and Albert Miller to create a backyard project that includes a limestone fire pit on a family's ranch.
The Texas episode hasn't aired yet -- after all, it was just filmed the second week of November. Amish RENOgades is a spinoff of the DIY Network show, "Vanilla Ice Goes Amish."
The first episode that features the Millers -- Amish master craftsmen traveling across the country in a red Mustang doing the renovation projects as a way to raise money for their community -- aired Saturday night.
