(LOOGOOTEE) - The Loogootee School Board accepted the resignation of high school Principal John Mullen, effective at the end of the year.
Mullen, who has been with the corporation for 12 years, had been placed on paid leave in October for what the board said were health concerns involving several family members.
Superintendent Dr. Joan Keller received permission from the board to post the position of high school principal, hoping to have someone ready to start Jan. 5, 2015.
In other personnel actions, the board accepted the resignation of Mark Potts as junior high golf coach, and approved Ed Harder and Scott Arthur as junior high baseball coaches.
The board extended three contracts for administrators, which will now run through and end of June 2017. Lacey Wade, middle school principal, had her contract extended two years and was given a 1 percent raise.
Mike Tippery, business operations director, also had his contract extended two years.
Terri Smith, elementary principal, is currently in the middle of a two-year contract, so she was extended one year.
