(BLOOMINGTON) - 31-year-old Elijah Berry of Bloomington told police he had consumed alcohol before driving with five children in his car and crashing his vehicle Monday evening.
A witness following Berry called police and reported the car hit a curb on South Rogers Street, flipped and landed on all four tires, before leaving the scene of the accident.
Berry was booked into Monroe County Jail on preliminary charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated endangerment, OWI leaving the scene of an accident with injuries, driving while his driver's license was suspended, operating a vehicle without financial responsibility.
