(BEDFORD) - The City of Bedford is restarting its economic development commission.
First established in the 1980s, the city has operated without it of years. But the city budgeted money in an economic development fund for 2015.
Law requires the city to establish a three-member commission to appropriate funds.
The commission must consist of a person appointed by the city council, one by Mayor Shawna Girgis and one by the county council.
Michelle Murphy was appointed from the city council and Mayor Girgis appointed Pat Robbins, who also chairs the city's Redevelopment Commission.
The county council has not made its appointment.
