(BEDFORD) - A Bedford man was arrested after police received a call at 1 p.m. Sunday about a man asking a resident in the 1300 block of South Leatherwood Road to help him load a motorcycle into the back of a truck.
"There was some question on if the motorcycle had been stolen," says Sheriff Sam Craig.
When officers arrived to speak to the resident and 56-year-old Billy Hardin, who was loading the motorcycle, they found Hardin was wanted on a warrant for failure to appear.
Hardin was arrested on that warrant. During a search of Hardin's pockets, police discovered a white powdery substance that field tested positive for meth. Hardin also had drug paraphernalia in his pocket.
Hardin was taken to jail on the warrant and on a charge of possession of meth and drug paraphernalia.
Police are still investigation to determine if the motorcycle was stolen.
