(BEDFORD) - A Bedford man was arrested after police received information that 21-year-old Tyler Heinich, who was wanted on a warrant for a probation violation, was armed with weapon and had made threats to police.
Just after 6 p.m. Monday, the Lawrence County Emergency Response Team went to a home in the 200 block of Kentucky Hollow Road with a search and arrest warrant.
"Mr. Heinich had made several threats to officers and others," Sheriff Sam Craig says. "Officers went to the home and executed both warrants and Mr. Heinich, who was not cooperative, was arrested and taken to jail for violating his probation."
Once Heinich got to jail, he began fighting with jail officers.
"He struck a jail officer causing injury, but not to where the officer had to seek medical attention," Craig added.
Heinich is now facing charges of petition to revoke probation and battery on a public servant.
