(BEDFORD) - Bertha’s Mission will be serving a Christmas dinner Saturday, Dec. 20, from 2-6 p.m. at First Baptist Church, corner of 20th Street and Washington Avenue.
The site is a change from what the group had originally planned because the Community Baptist Fellowship on State Road 58 could not hold the expected crowd of more than 300 people.
Janice Nickeo, founder and director of Bertha's Mission, says 678 meals were served at the Thanksgiving dinner, and an additional 95 were delivered to the homebound.
Donations for the Christmas dinner can be dropped off through Thursday at Bertha's Mission at the corner of Fifth and J.
Anyone in Bedford needing a ride to the dinner can call 275-1633 by Friday. For transportation from the Mitchell area, call (317) 480-0085.
For meal delivery (only for the elderly or homebound), call (317) 480-0085 by today.
Santa Claus is expected at the dinner and there will be live music, to usher in the holiday season.
