(BLOOMFIELD) - Clayton Burch, a senior at Bloomfield Jr/Sr High School, was named the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) Award winner.
Each school was allowed to nominate one player through the southern Indiana FCA webpage.
Burch was nominated by his principal David Dean.
The Greene County Daily World reports, the nominations were received at the Indiana FCA office in Fort Wayne Indiana, where the winner was determined.
In his nomination, principal Dean recognized Burch for his contributions in the classroom, in athletics, in his church and his community.
Burch volunteers at the Family Life Center in Bloomfield. He is also one of the student leaders during the Bloomfield FCA Huddle meetings.
Burch exemplifies four core values of FCA: integrity, serving, teamwork, and excellence.
The award was presented by Nancy Hudson, a representative for southern Indiana FCA. She was joined on the basketball court by Principal Dean, Assistant Principal Stella Royal, Athletic Director Ron McBride, Coach Matt Britton, and Burch's parents Darren and Lori Burch.
