(PAOLI) - 49-year-old Elbert Brooks entered a guilty plea to murder and as part of a plea agreement he will spend 100 years in prison.
He will be sentenced on Jan. 15.
Brooks, along with John Carpenter and James Davidson are accused in a triple shooting that killed Nicky Fields and Michael Cory Harris. They were also charged with attempted murder in the shooting of Daniel Smitson.
Brooks, as part of the plea agreement, plead guilty to a count of murder, one count of attempted murder and a count of robbery resulting in serious bodily injury. A second count of murder was dismissed as part of the agreement.
According to court documents, the day before he died, Fields expressed concern that Carpenter was out to hurt him. Those documents also indicate that what happened inside the mobile home was a robbery gone wrong.
Fields' body was found inside the home in the 2200 block of Sandy Hook Road. Harris was found outside, as was Smitson.
"He (Smitson) got shot underneath his neck and it went above his mouth and it came out his eye so he was very, very lucky to survive," Chantel Smitson said.
56-year-old Fields and 25-year-old Harris both suffered gunshot wounds to the head and died from their injuries.
