(BEDFORD) - Mitchell High School senior Fiona Schlegel was named the 2014 Distinguished Young Woman.
Schlegel won $2,300 for winning the DYW title, formerly known as Junior Miss, and $200 for the talent category award. Vicky Schlegel is her mother.
She plans to study dance at Indiana University.
First runner-up was Cassidy Tackett of Bedford North Lawrence High School. She also was named the winner for the self-expression and fitness categories. Overall, she received $1,500 in scholarships.
Alexandrea Cummings was named the second runner-up and was awarded $500.
Bailey Cooper and Abigail Gentry each won $200 because they tied in the scholastic category.
Dorothy Timan won $200 for the judges interview category.
Suzanne Schneider received $250 for the spirit award.
