(UNDATED) - Tis the season for fever, chills, body aches, sore throat and that nasty cough.
Flu season is here, and the Center for Disease Control predicts it will be a bad one compared to years past.
The bad news is it may get worse before it gets better. Experts are predicting a potentially nasty flu season.
Officials anticipate the flu season will get worse as time goes on with the holidays, air travel, and people getting together with family members.
The early flu outbreak has prompted area hospitals to enforce visitor restrictions; Regional Hospital in Terre Haute is the latest to take this step.
There is some good news, there's still time to get vaccinated. Officials are urging anyone six months or older to get the shot.
However, the shot doesn't protect against all strains of the virus, about 50 percent of the strains that doctors are seeing are not covered by the vaccine, and that is due to instead of a small step the virus is taking a large leap which certainly makes people at a larger risk to have complications from the virus.
Officials suggests going the extra mile to protect yourself and others this season.
Covering your mouth when you cough, not going to work when your sick, and certainly when you go to the doctors office put a mask.
Indiana's first flu related death came last week. Currently the Hoosier state is experiencing a moderate level of flu illnesses.
