Greene County Government Debuts New Website

Last updated on Thursday, December 4, 2014

(BLOOMFIELD) - The Greene County government has a new website.

Visit www.co.greene.in.us and take a look at what eGov Strategies, LLC has created. The site will be overseen locally by Webmaster Chuck Long. Long is currently the Information Technology Specialist for the courthouse.

The Greene County Daily World reports that, according Greene Co. Commissioner Ed Michael, the old page and all of the old information will be absorbed into the new website.

Among the prominent changes to the site are the inclusion of photographs of three area landmarks, the Tulip Trestle, the Yoho General Store in Solsberry and falls at Porter Cave.

The site itself offers separate links to each county office, the county judiciary system, property and taxes, public safety officials, county services and a document center.

Also included is the ability to pay bills on-line through the Greene County Treasurer's Office Tax Payment website via Point and Pay.

There's also direct links to email each office and most county officials as well as telephone numbers and a complete list of all boards and commissions in the county.

The new website offers 24 hours-a-day access to information about everything from protective orders and the forms needed to file a request for a protective order, to how to record important documents electronically with the Recorder's office.

The website has a search engine for any county services.

While the new site has lots to offer, there's still more planned for the near future.

Officials will add forms for the highway department and commissioner and county council's agendas and meeting minutes this spring.

There's also a space for breaking news that is relevant to county government as well as links to other agencies outside the courthouse that may be helpful to residents.

And if residents feel there's something that should be included, they can contact county officials.
