(PAOLI) - Paoli Peaks might be able to make it snow in Paoli, but they still can’t manufacture the low temperatures required for them to open.
Lauren Grenier, Director of Marketing and Administration at Paoli Peaks, says it's hit or miss, depending on what nature decides to do. Last winter was harsh and unforgiving, but perfect for Paoli.
Currently workers getting around on snowmobiles are plowing through slushy snow, made by special fans.
Serving around 90,000 customers a year, Paoli Peaks will alert skiers online once an opening day is set. They are hoping to be able to make snow on Sunday, but will know more on Christmas day and hope Sunday will be opening day.
Paoli Peaks officials are planning a New Year's Eve party on the slopes, but only if the resort is open. It will be family friendly, with skiing, fireworks, and a complimentary sparking grape juice toast. No alcohol will be served and the party will go until 2 a.m.
