(SEYMOUR) - A Seymour minister was arrested after an incident at a state fish and wildlife area at State Road 11 and I-65.
59-year-old Gaylard Lee Williams was arrested on a charge of battery and posted a $355 bond and was released Tuesday.
According to a probable cause affidavit, Williams told police he went to Cypress Lake to walk and look for a friend who goes there fishing.
The victim, who had parked to take a phone call, told police that he was sitting in his truck when Williams pulled his vehicle up beside his. Williams allegedly got out of his sport utility vehicle and came up to the victim's. The man rolled down his window, and that was when Williams allegedly reached in and touched the man inappropriately.
The victim, told police that Williams then asked him to perform a sex act on him.
The victim told Williams "he didn't swing that way," and that he had a weapon. That is when Williams took off
The victim took down Williams' license plate number and reported the incident to police.
Police arrested Williams At State Road 11 and Burkart Boulevard in Seymour. That is when Williams told police he didn't like people seeing him in handcuffs because he was a pastor at a Seymour church.
