(MITCHELL) - Two new police officers were sworn into office at the Mitchell Police Department Monday, replacing Cain Gilstrap and Andy Blackburn
Both left the department this fall to take position at other law enforcement agencies.
Steven Kenneth Johnson and Gregory "Blake" Wade are now patrolling Mitchell streets. Johnson, who is from Springville, is new to police work and is scheduled to attend the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy for training.
Wade, from Bedford, is a graduate of Bedford North Lawrence High School. He served as a police officer in Lafayette before moving back to Lawrence County.
