(CARLISLE) - A formal charge of murder has been filed against an inmate at the Wabash Valley Correctional Facility in Carlisle in connection with the stabbing death of another inmate back in October.
The Sullivan Daily Times reports the charge was filed last Friday in Sullivan Circuit Court against 34-year-old Jose Cruz who is accused of fatally stabbing 35-year-old Oswaldo Quizaman on October 6th.
Quizaman died en-route to Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes.
The stabbing took place inside a prison dayroom and was captured on security video.
Quizaman was serving a 40-year sentence out of Elkhart County on three counts of dealing in cocaine and meth.
Cruz is serving 46-years on convictions out of St. Joseph County for three counts of dealing in cocaine and felon possession of a firearm.
