(BEDFORD) - The quick thinking of a homeowner in the 800 block of East Oolitic Road Sunday afternoon saved her home.
Firefighters from Shawswick and Oolitic were alerted to the blaze at 5:14 p.m.
Three trucks from Shawswick with six firefighters and two trucks from Oolitic with 4 firefighters rushed to the scene, but the fire was out when they arrived.
"The homeowner used some type of powdery substance and a towel to extinguish the fire that started at an electrical connection box," says Shawswick Fire Department Chief Bob Brown.
Firefighters shut off the power at the pole, until Duke Energy was contacted to reconnect the power and check out the electrical box.
