(BLOOMFIELD) - Charles Edward Ingram, also known as Chuck Ingram, is wanted for failure to register as a sex offender, a Level 6 felony in Greene County.
61-year-old Ingram is listed on Indiana's Sex and Violent Offender's List and a criminal case was filed against Ingram last week following an investigation by Greene County Sheriff's Department.
Ingram registered with the Greene County Sheriff's Department on April 4, 2014, listing his address as 7316 N. Newark Rd., Solsberry, and reported he was living with a woman who also resided at that address.
In June, police made two stops at the residence to check on Ingram, but he was not there and during the second stop, the person who answered the door did not know Ingram and did not recognize his photograph.
When the deputy made another stop in November, another person who was staying there also did not recognize Ingram.
In mid-November, another deputy made a stop and talked to the woman Ingram listed when he registered. The deputy reported the woman said Ingram stays there sometimes but does not actually reside there. She said he lives in Ohio.
Checks on Ingram's registration revealed he had not registered anywhere else.
According to police, Ingram entered a guilty plea to unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, a fourth degree felony, in Geauga County, Ohio, in late July, 2008.
He was convicted and sentenced in September and at that time, he was notified by the court that he was a Tier II Sex Offender and required to register for a period of 25 years.
He was sentenced to one year and was released from custody in October of 2008.
After the case was filed in Greene Circuit Court, a warrant for Ingram's arrest was issued the same day. As of mid-day Friday, Ingram had not been apprehended. Ingram is described as white male, 6 feet, weight of 150 lbs., brown hair, green eyes, and a tattoo of five dots on his right hand, an Ohio tattoo on his left hand, a Cincinnati tattoo on his right arm, and a tattoo of a butterfly on his butt.
Anyone with information on Ingram is asked to call the Greene County Sheriff's Department.
