(BLOOMINGTON) - A Bloomington man was arrested on an outstanding warrants after shots were fired at an apartment complex in the 2500 block of South Rockport Road on Thursday.
Police were called to a report of shots fired at 8:30 p.m.
When police arrived, other residents directed them to the apartment of 28-year-old Dan Beckum.
Beckum was arrested for outstanding warrants and told police that two black males and a white man had approached him in the apartment complex with a handgun, punched him in the face and then stole his backpack, which contained his laptop.
As the three individuals ran away, one of the men allegedly discharged a handgun into the air.
Police say the case is still under investigation and anyone with information is asked to call the Bloomington Police Department.
