(GREENE CO.) - Two children were injured in an accident involving two vehicles in eastern Greene County on Sunday afternoon.
7- year-old David M. Owens and 6-year-old Bradlee L. Carter, both of rural Bloomfield, were transported to IU Health Bloomington Hospital by ambulances for treatment. Owens suffered minor bleeding to his mouth and Carter had a contusion to his left eye.
The two were passengers in a 2004 four-door Pontiac driven by 29-year-old Ashley L. Williams, of rural Bloomfield.
According to an Indiana State Police report, Williams was traveling northbound on State Road 43, north of State Road 54, and was attempting to make a left turn into a private driveway at Eastern Greene Schools when the accident happened at 1:40 p.m.
At the same time 30-year-old Shannon Sullivan of Solsberry was traveling southbound on the highway.
Williams turned left into the path of Sullivan's 1997 Toyota, and the two vehicles collided head-on.
Williams suffered bruising to a knee. Sullivan was not injured.
Police say everyone was wearing seat belts.
