(BLOOMFIELD) - A Bloomfield woman was killed in a one-vehicle accident on State Road 45 Tuesday morning.
According to a Greene County Sheriff's Department report, 77-year-old Shirley Hart was driving south on State Road 45 when she lost control of her 2005 Chevrolet Malibu.
Police say weather conditions contributed to the cause of the accident.
Hart's vehicle entered the northbound lane of traffic and when she attempted to correct the vehicle, it spun 90 degrees causing the vehicle to travel off the west side of the road, striking the driver's door on a utility pole.
Hart died at the scene. Her passenger, 46-year-old Freddie Hart, was injured during the incident.
Traffic on State Road 45 was limited to one lane while officers investigated the crash.
Assisting at the scene were the Center Fire Department, a Greene County ambulance crew, the Greene County Coroner and REMC.
