(BLOOMINGTON) - A Bloomington woman was arrested Friday morning after police received a call about a possible overdose.
24-year-old Justine N. Smith is facing charges possession of narcotics and being a common nuisance.
According to a probable cause affidavit, Smith had gone to a friend's apartment where her son and her friend's children were at. Smith allegedly went into a bathroom and was gone for a long period of time. When the woman went to check on Smith she found her unresponsive so the woman called 911 and began CPR.
Paramedics arrived on the scene and resuscitated Smith, who told them she had snorted heroin.
According to the report, paramedics gave Smith a shot that counteracts the effects of drug.
Police searched Smith's and found a folded piece of aluminum foil with a white substance in her hoodie pocket that tested positive for heroin.
Smith was transported to IU Health Bloomington Hospital where she admitted to purchasing the heroin from someone in the parking lot of Arlington Park Apartments and with intentions to use it because she had been having a bad day.
