(UNDATED) - Don Bowling of Loogootee and Maxine Parks of French Lick are the recipients of the 2014 community service awards from Hoosier Uplands.
"Both Don and Maxine have served for many years on our corporate board of directors and have been active on various committees here," CEO David Miller stated in a news release. "They both epitomize what a person should be in their community spirit, integrity and caring for others. I consider it an honor to know them and to have worked along side them for years."
The two were honored at a Christmas dinner Dec. 16.
Hoosier Uplands has given this prestigious award since 1988 to members of the communities served by the nonprofit agency.
Hoosier Uplands, based in Mitchell, serves Lawrence, Orange, Martin, Washing and Crawford counties with programs like home health care, Head Start, energy assistance, housing development and more.
