(HELTONVILLE) - A Heltonville man was arrested after he allegedly grabbed a woman by her hair and pulled it out of her head.
Police arrested 40-year-old David "Jeff" Blevens on a warrant for domestic battery on Wednesday.
According to a probable cause affidavit, Lawrence County Police went to a home on Raintree Lane on December 27 after they received a 911 call and could hear a man and woman involved in a domestic fight.
When police arrived they found a woman upset and sitting in a vehicle at the end of the driveway.
She told police that Blevens had been drinking and become upset because Blevens thought the woman cheated on him.
While she was sitting on the toilet, Blevens "went into the bathroom and grabbed her by the hair and pulled her off of the toilet and onto the floor. The woman's hair was pulled out of her head and police found it on the woman's shirt. She also suffered a cut when she hit the floor.
During the fight in the bathroom, the woman's 8-year-old daughter ran into the bathroom and saw Blevens on top of her mother. The girl then ran to a neighbor's home for help.
Blevens allegedly took the woman's cell phone, but she was able to grab a different phone and run outside and get into a vehicle and drive to the end of the driveway. Blevens allegedly followed, grabbed the phone, threw it and walked away.
He posted a $755 cash bond and was released from jail Thursday night.
